EL CAJON — Jamie Heenan and KaUwila Lavea had 12 kills each to help the No. 21-ranked Lions to a 25-18, 25-21, 25-16 Golden State Athletic Conference win Tuesday.
Stevie Hurlbirt added 11 kils and Lisa Morgan led Vanguard (18-8, 7-4 in conference) with 16 digs.
San Diego Christian is 5-20, 11-0.

COSTA MESA — Logan Chan scored an unassisted goal in overtime, the 99th minute, to win the Golden State Athletic Conference game for the No. 5-ranked Cougars Tuesday.
The unranked Lions (10-3-1, 2-3-1 in conference) hung with APU (8-2-1, 4-2), outshooting the visitors, 10-9. Goalie Lauren Terry had three saves for Vanguard.

FAIRFAX — UC Irvine finished 15th in the event that concluded Tuesday at The Meadow Club.
California and Oregon tied for the team title with 54-hole scores of 811 while San Diego State was third at 819. The Anteaters finished with a three-round total of 867.
Oregon’s Eugene Wong was medalist at 18-under-par 195 after a 67 in the final round. Max Homa of Cal finished five shots back.
UCI redshirt freshman Pete Fernandez shot a 75 Tuesday and placed 17th at six-under 207.
Junior Michael Yang carded a 73 and finished 57th at 218, while redshirt sophomore Ryan Knapp (Estancia, Orange Coast) shot even-par 71 to place 63rd at 220.
Junior Mickey Chan, with a 76 Tuesday, finished 70th at 222 and Zack Duan (85) was 80th at 234.
UCI closes out its fall schedule in the Cabo Intercollegiate Oct. 27-29 at Querencia Golf Club in Los Cabos.
