CHICAGO — Senior Cinnamon Sary was named to the all-tournament team as she helped Newport Harbor High finish third after beating host Mother McAuley in the third-place match Saturday.

The Sailors (12-3) defeated Joliet Catholic Academy, 25-19, 25-17, in the gold division quarterfinals Saturday morning.

Then, Assumption of Kentucky scored a 25-19, 25-13 win over Newport Harbor in the semifinals.

The Sailors ended with a 22-25, 25-19, 25-22 victory over Mother McAuley.

Kasey Thompson had 25 kills combined from the three matches. Sary had 20 kills, Claire Castillo had 12 kills, Alex Holbrook had 15 kills, Torey Thompson amassed 55 assists and Tatum Norton had 25 digs.
