[UPDATE] Banning Ranch meeting changes locations
Update: The Costa Mesa Banning Ranch Study Session has been moved from the Emergency Operations Center to City Council Chambers, City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
Costa Mesa officials plan to hold a public meeting Thursday to discuss potential traffic, noise and other effects from the proposed Banning Ranch development.
The City Council, and Planning and the Parks & Recreation commissions will review the project’s draft environmental impact report, which was released in September.
The 400-acre Banning Ranch development, near the southwest corner of Costa Mesa, is in Newport Beach’s sphere of influence. It may have 1,375 homes, a 75-room hotel and 75,000 square feet of retail space.
The EIR found that residents on the west side of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa would experience congestion at more than seven intersections, and the increased traffic would cause a high level of ambient noise.
The joint study session will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
