Louise Chapman passed away peacefully at her home in Newport Beach on October 16, 2011 at the age of 96. She was born in Los Angeles on August 3, 1915 to Arthur and Anna Czerwonky. She was raised in Alhambra, attending Granada Grammar School and Alhambra High School. She also attended Woodbury Business College.

On February 7, 1942, she married Wilbur Chapman at the Vista Del Arroyo Hotel in Pasadena. They were married for 60 years until Wilbur’s death in 2002. They raised their three children; Gerald, Robert, and Linda in Pasadena, Arcadia, and Newport Beach. Their first summer home in Newport was purchased in 1950. The family moved to Newport full time in 1966.

Louise was a very caring person and volunteered her time to many charities including the Las Hermanas Guild at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, Hoag Hospital Gift Box, and the Newport-Mesa Assistance League.

In 1980, she and Wilbur purchased a vacation home in Mendocino, CA where they spent six months every year.

She will be greatly missed by her children and many friends.
