Man arrested after stabbing in street
Police arrested a 21-year-old man early Saturday morning after he allegedly stabbed a man during a fight.
Officers responded just before 1:40 p.m. to a 911 call reporting a fight near the intersection of Huntington Street and Rochester Avenue. When they arrived, police found the victim, a 30-year-old Huntington Beach man, bleeding from a “severe†stab wound to the upper torso, according to a release issued by the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene and later took him to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana where he was listed in stable condition.
An investigation led officers to the man they say is the stabbing suspect — Eric Timothy Lund, 21, of Huntington Beach. They arrested Lund in the 1800 block of Huntington Street on suspicion of attempted murder. They also found the knife they believe Lund allegedly used in the stabbing.
Lund and the victim were walking home after a night at two local bars, according to the news release. They got into a fight on the way home, and that’s when Lund allegedly stabbed the man. Police say there is no information yet on how the two men knew each other.
Lund was booked at Huntington Beach police’s jail facility, according to the news release.
