Police: Woman said she was proving physical fitness in stabbing

A Costa Mesa woman told police that she stabbed another woman at a motel to prove her physical fitness, police said Monday.

Christina Harrington-Edenschnick, 35 of Costa Mesa, was drinking with a 31-year-old woman at the Motor Inn, 2277 Harbor Blvd., when she went to her room and brought back a 3-inch knife, said Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Phil Myers.

Harrington-Edenschnick then stabbed the woman without provocation in the right arm and abdomen before returning to her room, Myers said.

Upon her arrest Harrington-Edenschnick made comments to officers about proving her physical fitness and what good shape she was in.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Harrington-Edenschnick was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and held on $100,824 bail, according to Orange County Jail records.
