Indulge for self sufficiency’s sake

If you like wine, cheese or chocolate, then you’re in for a treat at the second annual Project Self Sufficiency Foundation’s fundraising afternoon Sunday.

The foundation, which Huntington beach formed in 1985 as part of its Department of Community Services, provides assistance and works as a support system for low-income single-parent families with children to reach independence from public assistance through education, according to the foundation’s website.

The second annual Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Please is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. at the Newland Barn, 19822 Beach Blvd., in Huntington Beach.

Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door.
