Irvine fire damages estimated at $7 million
An industrial fire in Irvine caused an estimated $7 million in damage, fire officials said Tuesday.
The four-alarm fire took place at Trantronics Inc., near Red Hill Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard on Saturday.
The cause is still under investigation, Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion said.
Concepcion said the damage was estimated at $2 million for the structure and $5 million for the building’s contents. Trantronics manufactures electronic hardware, like X-ray machines and computer equipment.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which took up to 80 firefighters to extinguish and resulted in several road closures.
