Joel Warford

Joel (Joe) Warford, 70, a long time resident of Newport Beach, died on July 13. 2011, at his home in Rio Vista, CA.

Joe was born in Aberdeen, WA on March 19, 1941, the son of Marjorie and Glenn Warford, the younger of two siblings. The family soon moved to Olympia, WA where Joe went to elementary school, and, then to Newport Beach, CA where he lived on the Balboa Peninsula Point and attended Newport Harbor High School. Joe played football for Harbor High and graduated with the class of 1959.

He attended Orange Coast College and California State University, San Francisco. He continued to live in the Bay Area where he held various managerial positions with Costco for 25 years. He moved to Rio Vista, CA five years ago and retired from Costco in 2010.

Joe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Kimberly Warford of Pleasanton, CA; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Anita Warford of Fremont, CA; two grandsons, Robert Warford of Fremont, CA and Alexander Warford of Pleasanton, CA; a sister, Jan Fisher of Laguna Beach, CA, and two nieces, Elizabeth Fisher Slezak of Costa Mesa, CA and Katie Fisher of Honolulu, Hawaii.
