Longtime Five Crowns employee wins award
Five Crowns’ employee Tommy Martin was recently honored with the Rosalind Williams Service Excellence Award from Visit Newport Beach Inc. for his more than 40 years of service, according to a restaurant announcement.
Martin joined the restaurant in 1967. After the Corona del Mar restaurant’s reopening in May, he was named to the position of guest ambassador, which requires him to work with patrons to aid their dining experiences.
“Tommy Martin is an inspiration to those who work with him,†said Five Crowns General Manager Steve Kim in a prepared statement. “After 43 years of service at Five Crowns, his positive attitude has simply grown stronger.â€
Five Crowns, a member of the Lawry family’s fine-dining restaurants, has also been distinguished with the Automobile Club of Southern California Four-Diamond Award, the Mobil Travel Guide Four-Star Award, the DiRoNA Award, the Wine Spectator Grand Award, the Southern California Restaurant Writers’ Gold Award, and the Golden Bacchus Award.
