Basketball camps for youth, teens available

Boys and girls can get their heads in the game while learning to shoot, pass and dribble.

Orange Coast College is hosting a youth basketball skills camp for 7- to 12-year-old students in the mornings and 13- to 17-year-old teens in the afternoons from Monday to July 15 in OCC’s Peterson Gymnasium on Fairview Road and Pirate Way.

The camp will be run by OCC men’s basketball head coach Steve Spencer and Yee Tran.

The youth camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon followed by the teen session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Registration is $125 for the first child and $75 for each additional child. Participants should wear basketball shoes, a T-shirt, shorts and bring a water bottle.
