Reigning Rookie of the Year for AVP Pro Beach Volleyball, Raquel Caulkins, is reaching out to her volleyball fans and friends to support the troops in Afghanistan.

On Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 5-6 p.m., she will be appearing at Beach Pit BBQ in Costa Mesa to sign autographs and collect soft BEACH volleyballs, nets, soccer balls & basketballs for “Chief Morale Officer†Micah Redmond, son of Costa Mesa resident Mary Davis, who is with the Navy Seabees serving in Bagrum, Afghanistan.

“Officer Redmond loves the sport so they’ve set up a beach volleyball court there--they definitely have the sand. I hope my beach volleyball fans and friends will help me boost their morale by donating some equipment,†commented Raquel.

“When Mrs. Davis contacted my office to seek our help to obtain donations for her son Officer Redmond, I knew Raquel could help. The timing was perfect because of the upcoming event at the Beach Pit BBQ right in Mrs. Davis’ town,†said Raquel’s manager Katrina Anne Foley of The Foley Group.

Bring your donations and/or a donation towards postage to The Beach Pit BBQ on Saturday, May 8 from 5-6. Become a fan of Raquel Caulkins on Facebook to receive updates on Officer Redmond’s efforts to boost morale through beach volleyball.
