Lawn Bowls is played with asymmetrical balls called “bowls†that always curve when you roll them. The object of the game is to earn points by completing a set of “ends†(similar to an inning in baseball) and getting your bowls closer to the “jack†than your opponent. The team closest to the jack wins points. The team with the most points after all ends have been played wins the match.

Men and women are invited to try their skill at this sport, by visiting the Newport Harbor Lawn Bowling Open House on May 8 between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parking is free, and all attendees should wear flat-soled shoes or sandals and a smile. All equipment will be provided without charge.

The Newport Harbor Lawn Bowling Club is located at 1550 Crown Drive North, Corona del Mar in the San Joaquin Hills Park (near Roger’s Gardens and Gelsons, across from the Lincoln School athletic field). It’ll be easy to find Newport Harbor Lawn Bowling Club Open House—just look for all the balloons!
