Man suspected of car burglary at beaches
Police arrested an Anaheim man on suspicion of vehicle burglary at a beachside parking lot Tuesday morning and are urging residents not to hide their keys on the exteriors of their cars.
Julius Sager, 52, was arrested at a parking lot along Pacific Coast Highway near Goldenwest Street, where officers were conducting surveillance due to recent vehicle burglaries, Det. Sgt. Sam Lopez said. Detectives saw Sager, whom they had arrested before on suspicion of burglary in the same area, drive into the parking lot and watch surfers change into their wetsuits, then attempt to enter a truck with a key that the driver had hidden on its exterior, Lopez said.
Sager was booked at Huntington Beach Jail and is out on $100,000 bail.
