A Huntington Beach motorcyclist died Sunday in a traffic collision with a car.

Richard Ciancone, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene after his 1986 Harley Davidson collided head-on with a red 2007 Honda Element, according to a preliminary investigation by the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Ciancone was driving west on Heil Avenue about 1:52 a.m. Sunday in the No. 1 lane toward Bradbury Lane when 19-year-old Nathan Bower of Huntington Beach was driving his Honda Element east on Heil, officials said.

Bower made a left turn on Bradbury Lane and collided head-on with Ciancone in the intersection of Heil and Bradbury.
