Pet Of the Week
Darla
The pretty torti tabby named Darla was dressed in red in the spirit of the holiday, which added a festive look to the pet adoption event.
Darla is quite attentive and would be described as dog-like, following her caregiver around.
She is vocal when seeking attention, and her favorite thing to do is drop and roll to have her belly petted.
Several veterinarians tested Darla for a urinary tract infection, and the results were all negative. According to a feline expert, Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchell, Darla has an “abnormal posture for urinating (standing up) which needs a litter box adaptation (covered litter box) to control the direction of urine flow.”
Having a better understanding of Darla’s special litter box needs has stopped any concern of any medical problems.
Call (949) 749-3646 to meet Darla in the caregiver’s home. See other cats and kittens for adoption each weekend from noon to 4 p.m at Fashion Island, sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience. To see more photos of animals, visit www.animalnetwork.org.
Dulce the Shih Tzu and Vida the Malti-poo are still available.
