Police looking for witnesses in fatal collision

Police are seeking witnesses of an early Friday morning fatal traffic collision in Huntington Beach.

At 5:12 a.m., police responded to a collision at Garfield Avenue and Main Street between a blue 1996 Audi A4 and a red 1989 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

A 61-year-old man was driving the truck was westbound on Garfield. He was treated by paramedics at the scene, then was transported to Huntington Beach Hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.

Police are waiting to identify the man until his family is notified.

Police said the Audi driver, 24-year-old Thomas Taylor of Tucson, suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital; no charges have been filed against him at this time.
