Officers battle for charity dollars
City public service officers will battle Friday at a new hamburger restaurant in downtown Huntington Beach.
Local police officers, firefighters and marine safety officers will participate in the first annual Burger Battle of the Badges at 11 a.m. Friday at 25 Degrees, a new burger and wine bar at 412 Walnut Ave.
Each organization’s team of up to six representatives will attempt to eat as many burgers as they can to raise money for their group’s charity association.
In addition, for every burger consumed, the restaurant will donate $10 to their charity. Each member of the winning team will also receive a gift certificate for the restaurant, good at any of its four locations.
The restaurant says it has a “bordello meets burger bar†aesthetic, with an extensive wine list and full bar. It will have its official opening Aug. 1.
