Winners named in Flight of Lasers race

The Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Newport Harbor Yacht Club have announced the winners of the 2009 Flight of the Lasers.

Winners include Peter Gantz, of Oceanside Yacht Club, who took home honors for being the oldest skipper.

Madison Vitarelli, 16, of Balboa Island Yacht Club won the award for youngest girl.

Eight-year-old Daniel Lockhart of Lido Isle Yacht Club won the title of Youngest Boy.

Anne Hatton of Newport Harbor Yacht Club was the first girl to finish the race.

Doug and Beth Raff were the first married couple to finish.

Gator and Kelsea Cook of Balboa Yacht Club were the first parent-child team to finish the race.

Matt, Evan and Luke Tingler of Lido Isle Yacht Club won awards for the best costumes.

Megan Zemke, of Lido Isle Yacht Club won the award for best decorated boat.
