Kurt Kupferman
Kurt Kupferman passed away in his sleep Sunday night 7/26/9 from Alzheimers’ disease. He was born in Berlin in 1922 and escaped the Nazi regime in 1938 with his parents and younger brother. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Shirley, of 64 years, four children, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. After four years in the Army Air Corps during WWII, Kurt spent 25 years in the defense industry as a degreed mechanical engineer in munitions R&D.; He went to law school in his fifties and practiced law for 25 years in Newport Beach. He volunteered and served as judge pro tem in local municipal courts and provided free legal services to those in need. He moved to Newport in 1962 and loved to run in local races, hike up mountains, and play golf. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made in his memory to Temple Bat Yahm or to the Alzheimer’s Association
