Vickie Ronaldson of Newport Beach was at the county’s shelter recently when she saw someone waiting in line to hand over eight tabby and tortoiseshell kittens, so she called the Community Animal Network for help rescuing the cats. When she found out the network needed volunteers, she signed up to be a foster parent.
