Spots open for OCC kids’ swim team

OCC’s swim team is inviting children 5 and older to join and improve their skills in the water while enjoying the thrill of competition.

OCC is offering a full swim season that started this week but still has openings for kids to join, and a second, abbreviated season beginning June 22 and ending July 31.

Kids are still welcome to join the team for the full season, which practices Mondays and Wednesdays through June 17 before competition begins. Daily weekday practices begin June 22.

During the season, each swimmer will learn how to perform all four competitive strokes correctly. Children wishing to join should already be comfortable swimming the 50-foot width of the pool . Private lessons are available for kids looking for a tune-up before the first practice.

The cost of the shortened-season program is $265 and includes a swimsuit. The full season costs $295. There’s a $10 discount for each child who joins from the same family.
