Harman states run for attorney general
State Sen. Tom Harman began his campaign for California attorney general Thursday with announcements on several social-networking websites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
The Orange County Republican is in the middle of his second two-year term in the senate. He announced his plans to consider a run in December.
The position is held by Democrat Jerry Brown, who is widely expected to run for governor in 2010. Harman has criticized Brown for his legal opposition to Proposition 8 and his aggressive enforcement of carbon emission standards set by Assembly Bill 32.
