Doubleheader

WALNUT — Sophomore Angela St. Croix went a combined five for nine with four runs batted in and three doubles for Vanguard, which swept Hope International in a Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader Tuesday.

The Lions won, 9-3, and 13-8.

April Glenn went four for four with six RBIs and a home run in the second game for Vanguard (15-12, 3-5 in conference).

The second game went extra innings, as the Lions scored five runs in the eighth to sweep the doubleheader.

FULLERTON — Laurent Minguez, Yannick Lepage and Kevin Saenz each swept at love in singles and Nick Stuart dropped just one game for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday.

Minugez, Saenz and Stuart each contributed to a win in doubles for OCC (9-2, 4-2 in conference). Bradley Fisher and Felix Demiro also won in singles.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

COSTA MESA — Heather Wong won at No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday.

Julia Garofalo won at No. 6 singles, while Hannah Mancino won with Wong in doubles for OCC (8-2, 6-2 in conference).

COSTA MESA — Senior Derek Craddock went two for three with two runs batted in and a double for the Lions in a nonconference game Tuesday.

Jacob Wood tripled, drove in two runs and walked twice for Vanguard (7-13).
