Have a police officer serve you — dinner, that is
Newport Beach police are inviting you and your family to help them raise money to fight cancer Thursday night at Ruby’s Diner in Corona del Mar.
From 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, officers and staff members will be the waiters at Ruby’s Diner, 2505 E. Coast Highway. The restaurant is donating 20% of the night’s proceeds to the American Cancer Society on behalf of the department’s “911 Blue Crew.”
The event is part of the Relay for Life, a nationwide campaign of law enforcement to raise money to fight cancer.
All you need to do is bring the flier with you and present it to your server. Additional fliers are available at the Police Department and City Hall, or by calling Sgt. Shontel Sherwood at (949) 644-3717. Organizers are hoping to raise $2,000 from the event.
