WOMEN’S TENNIS
UC Irvine 4, Nevada 0
IRVINE — Freshman Stephanie Hammel and senior Heidi Kaloi won in singles and doubles to pace the host Anteaters in the nonconference match Saturday.
Hammel defeated Caroline Bailly, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1 singles and teamed with Kaloi to post an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.
Kaloi dominated Katarina Huba, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6 singles.
UCI clinched the win with three singles triumphs, ending the contest with three singles matches left unfinished.
UCI improved to 10-4.
Nevada is 2-7.
MEN’S TENNIS
UC Irvine 6, Penn 1
COTO de CAZA — Senior Wes Miller, a Corona del Mar High product, won in singles and doubles to help the Anteaters win their nonconference match Saturday afternoon at the Coto de Caza Racquet Club.
The ‘Eaters (7-9) won two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. Miller and sophomore Khunpol Issara beat Hicham Laalej and Adam Schwartz 9-8 in the No. 1 match.
In singles, UCI won five of the six matches to claim the overall team win.
The Anteaters will return to the Coto de Caza Racquet Club March 21 as they play host to a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m. against Princeton and Denver.

COSTA MESA — The visitors swept the Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday.
Jennifer Bergh went two for three in the first game for the Lions, while APU pitcher Camille Hundley blanked the Lions on two hits in the second game.
Stephanie Leisenring and Amanda Plum each drove in runs for the Lions (13-11, 1-4 in conference) in the opener.
The Cougars improved to 12-9, 2-3.

SANTA BARBARA — The Lions overcame a 3-0 deficit after one inning to win the nightcap and split a Golden State Conference doubleheader Saturday.
Jack Wood and Zachary Falk had two hits each, while Keegan Freeman went one for two with two RBIs for Vanguard (7-12, 4-10 in conference).
Michael Anderson struck out four and walked two in six innings, scattering four hits and allowing three runs. Brandon Godfrey had a perfect seventh to earn his first save of the season.
Westmont dropped to 5-21, 3-14.
Jason Schaniel, Eric Krzysiak and Nicholas Akins each had two hits in the loss to Westmont. Derek Craddock and Schaniel had an RBI each for the Lions.
