Contest will award home gardens that save water
Organizers of the 2009 California Friendly Garden Contest hope to raise awareness about water conservation by recognizing colorful home gardens that conserve water.
Corona del Mar-based Roger’s Gardens is spearheading the county-wide contest, which runs from now until June.
The contest is open to all residents of Orange County with a front-yard garden that has been established for at least one month. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts based on aesthetic beauty, plants that use less water, irrigation efficiency and organic principles, among other factors.
Contestants must complete a brief entry form and submit three photographs of their garden to enter. Visit www.rogersgardens.com/ gardencontest for more information.
