Newport Harbor students win airport art contest
Three Newport Harbor High School students have won high honors in John Wayne Airport’s 19th annual student art contest, which asked kids and teens from around the county to create posters for the World Air Games.
More than 1,000 entries were sent in from public and private schools, according to a news release from the airport.
Newport Harbor student Siara Fabri won first place among 10th-graders in the contest, while classmate Sarah Vetrovec won third in that grade category. Eleventh-grader Hannah Sandberg took third place in her grade as well.
Contest winners got prizes from donors like Art Supply Warehouse, Catalina Express, the Pacific Symphony and Southwest Airlines.
