Sailors sixth at divisional

MENIFEE — The Newport Harbor High girls’ golf team shot a combined 65-over-par 425 to place sixth at the CIF Central Team Divisional Monday at Menifee Lakes Country Club.

Junior Lauren Draganza paced the Sailors with a nine-over-par 81. Draganza will represent the Sailors at the individual WSCGA Regional Championships, Monday at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside.

Senior Tiffany Kane (85), junior Lindsey Hanna (85), junior Casey Jones (86) and junior Ali Thomas (88) rounded out the scoring for Coach Scott Tarnow’s squad.

Newport Harbor finished third at last year’s Central Divisional to advance to the Regional Championships.

Los Altos dominated the field, shooting 19-over-par 379, while Cerritos, Troy and Ayala also advanced to the Regional Championships.
