Sage Hill vs. Brethren Christian
When: Tonight, 7
Where: Brethren Christian
Key Lightning: Jr. WR-LB Dusty Orrantia (19 catches for 222 yards and three TDs); So. RB-CB Taylor Ross; So. QB Randall Mycorn (71 for 157 passing for 828 yards and seven TDs and seven interceptions).
Key Warriors: Sr. QB Brad Hess (81 for 191 passing for 1,014 yards and seven TDs and seven interceptions); Sr. RB Drew Fabrigas (127 carries for 706 yards and eight TDs); Sr. WR Matthew Bodziak (34 catches for 386 yards and two TDs).
Breakdown: Sage Hill (2-6, 1-0 in the Academy League) looks like it has turned it around after opening league play last week with a 34-19 victory over Capistrano Valley Christian, ending a five-game losing streak. Sage produced 401 yards of total offense and senior running back Jelani Reynolds scored his first two touchdowns of the season ... During the skid, the Lightning were shut out three times … If Sage Hill wins tonight against the Warriors (2-6, 0-1), it will most likely lock up one of the league’s two guaranteed playoff berths because St. Margaret’s (2-0 in league), ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section East Valley Division poll, should easily beat Capistrano Valley Christian (0-1 in league) ... Sage Hill is one win away from possibly playing for the league title at home against rival St. Margaret’s.
