SOUNDING OFF: Churches shouldn’t fund political causes
I was surprised to discover that the Mormon Church has funded $8.4 million to the Yes on Proposition 8 campaign.
During my anti war vigil at the Huntington Beach Pier Sunday, a group of Christians from a local church joined us. They held signs for Yes on Proposition 8. It is sad to see Christians promoting this because Yes on 8 is nothing but discrimination and hate. When churches are blatantly involved in politics they should be taxed. They are nothing more than large corporations.
Where is the separation of church and state? Religious organizations are now telling their congregations how to vote, who to vote for and what propositions to support. This in my opinion is wrong.
