Flu shots and Senior Summit coming up
South Coast Medical Center, Laguna Beach Seniors and the city of Laguna Beach are sponsoring a free flu vaccine clinic and Senior Summit from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Senior Center, 384 Legion St. Anyone 50 and older, those identified as high risk, or those who live or care for persons at high risk should receive the flu vaccine.
At the Senior Summit, many vendors will be on hand to provide information on products and services that are of interest to older adults and their families.
This event is supported by a donation from Hoag Memorial Hospital. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.
Driver safety program offered at center
The AARP driver’s safety seminar, an eight-hour driving refresher course for people older than 50, will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20 at the Senior Center.
The cost is $10 per person, payable to AARP. Sign-ups are required by Nov. 12.
Seniors’ holiday luncheon is Dec. 8
Laguna Beach Seniors will hold its annual holiday luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at Tivoli Terrace, on the Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.
A traditional turkey feast will be served at $30 per person. Entertainment, prizes and opportunity drawing tickets are $1.
