Today, Ward’s celebrated its 9th Annual Interior of the Year Awards where it announced the 2009 Jaguar XF as winner in the Best Premium Car Interior category.

Selected by members of the Ward’s editorial staff, the Jaguar XF was evaluated over a two-month period in eight specific interior categories: material selection, ergonomics, driver information, safety, overall value, fit and finish, and design harmony. Within each of these categories, the XF took top place.

“After all of the hard work from the Jaguar design team, it’s really satisfying to receive this type of recognition for the Jaguar XF,” said Ian Callum, Design Director for Jaguar Cars. “The XF really represents the new design direction we are taking Jaguar and this recognition from Ward’s Automotive Group underlines that what we are doing is absolutely right for the brand.”

With interior design that is equal to the exterior in terms of crafted execution and visual excitement, the new XF’s interior ambience is enriched by crafted, luxurious materials, sophisticated instruments and calm interior mood lighting. Engineering excellence and attention to detail mean the XF’s interior matches the best-in-class for refinement, while Jaguar’s intelligent use of technology and driver-friendly touch-screen controls add new layers of comfort and ease of use.

The Ward’s Interior of the Year awards program continues to grow in popularity and prestige among the automakers, and is the industry’s only trade show and conference focused specifically on vehicle interiors. It spotlights the latest innovations in vehicle technology and design to help suppliers respond to increasing demands and changing consumer preferences.
