3rd time’s a charm!
After two tough defeats, Christ Lutheran’s 3/4 Silver Division girls’ team got their first win in a 2-1 victory over Kaiser B Thursday evening.
The veteran offense was led by Anneliese Johansson, Alaina Kahre, Andie Piovesan and Samantha Haynes, who scored Christ Lutheran’s first goal within the first two minutes of the game. Pulling double duty at offense and defense were Victoria Stuewe, Shalah Garcia, and Elaina Watson. Second year Pilot Cup players and sisters Jana & Dana Murphy did a great job in offense and defense while Cali-Rose Hinton and Marissa Valenzuela showed off their defensive soccer skills. Emily Shintani made several outstanding saves as goalie. There was a lot of energy on the field and the sidelines for this evenly matched, well played game.
“I’m really proud of the girls,” said coach John Piovesan after Thursday evenings game. “Nearly half our team is playing soccer for the first time but everyone gave it their all.”
