The students will wear the latest in Tokyo fashion as Sasha, formerly of Cirque du Soleil, will perform acrobatics in a special guest appearance.

Imagination Celebration draws hundreds
On April 26, Laguna Art Museum hosted 450 guests who attended Let’s Paint Our Planet Green, an eco-friendly inspired arts day celebrating the Imagination Celebration, a county-wide arts program for children.
The Museum partnered with local arts group Laguna Outreach for Community Arts, a coalition of arts educators and professional artists, whose members lead themed workshops that utilized recycled material from prior Museum workshops.
Other events of the day included a treasure hunt, face-painting, music and dance performances, and treats for children and their parents.
Playhouse debuts new teen dramedy
The Laguna Playhouse’s Theatre for a New Generation, issue-oriented plays for teens, parents and educators, will present R.N. Sandberg’s “Can’t Believe It!” at 7:30 p.m. May 13-15.
Each performance includes a stage talk with the company and experts.
In the comic drama, directed by Donna Inglima, shy Teresa has a crush on “perfect” Ron. When their paths cross and each gets caught doing something they shouldn’t, they have to think about what they believe about themselves, each other and what they want.
It’s rated PG for suggested drinking and party behavior; the play has no bad language or nudity.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults at the door, or call (949) 497-2787 ext. 1.
Scholarships raised for students
On April 27, the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club celebrated their third annual wine tasting and scholarship fundraiser, Grapes for Grads.
More than 250 patrons turned out at Tivoli Too.
With record-breaking attendance, the event raised $8,500 to benefit student scholarship programs at Laguna College of Art & Design and Laguna Beach High School.
The day included both local and regional wines; live entertainment from April Spain; a live painting demonstration; an opportunity drawing; and a silent auction.
