Pool of blood a mystery to police
Laguna Beach police officers are investigating a large pool of blood that was found at 6:43 a.m. April 26 in the middle of Alta Laguna Boulevard, Sgt. Jason Kravetz said.
Officers followed a blood trail to the front door of a residence in the 3300 block of Alta Laguna, but everyone in the house was fine and said they didn’t know anything about the blood, Kravetz said.
Police took samples of the blood and area hospitals were notified in case somebody sought treatment for a wound.
Man held in burglary attempt at cleaners
Alex Vasquez, 18, of Laguna Beach was arrested on suspicion of burglary after police caught him allegedly trying to break into a dry cleaner on Ocean Avenue at 2:32 a.m. April 25, Kravetz said.
Vasquez was standing on a trash can allegedly trying to pry open a window when an officer on foot patrol saw him, Kravetz said.
Burglars break through roof
A burglar broke through the roof of a dry cleaning business in the 400 block of Forest Avenue and stole about $340 in cash, Kravetz said. The burglary was reported at 12:21 p.m. on April 25.
Jewelry reported missing from shop
A jeweler in the 200 block of Beach Street discovered a pair of $2,100 earrings and a $1,100 ring were missing from a jewelry case. It is not known when the items were stolen, and the case was not damaged, Kravetz said.
Advice on snakes
Animal Services officers are reminding residents that snakes pose a hazard in chaparral terrain areas.
A new vaccine is now available for dogs who are bitten by snakes.
