Anteaters’ Gorgen lauded yet again for 14-K outing

UC Irvine All-American pitcher Scott Gorgen was voted West Region Player of the Week by CollegeBaseballInsider.com.

Gorgen, a junior right-hander, dominated UC Riverside with a 14-strikeout performance in a 7-2 Big West Conference victory on April 18 at Anteater Ballpark.

The 14 strikeouts were a career single-game high for Gorgen, who accomplished the feat in just seven innings. He walked just two and gave up three hits en route to collecting his team-high seventh win.

It is the second time Gorgen has been recognized by CollegeBaseballInsider.com this season.
