School track team nets 127 medals
Seventy-three students from Mesa View Middle School garnered 127 medals on April 4 at the Mount SAC Relays in Walnut.
“Our sixth-grade distance relay teams set the tone,†Mesa View Coach Kelly Painter said. “Both boys’ and girls’ teams left the rest of the schools in their wake, winning handily.â€

Distance medley
Sixth-grade girls: Haile Bergeron, Shoshanah Katz, Regan Shaver, Katie Gainous, 5:23.38, first-place.
Sixth-grade boys: Matt Myers, Matthew Lanndo, Anthony Hough, William Morehand, 4:57.19, first-place.
Triple jump
Sixth-grade girls: Shoshone Katz, (26-feet-2, first flight); Tawni Bosiljevac, (26-0, second flight); Katie Gainous 26-6, third flight).
Sixth-grade boys: William Morehand (30-8).
Seventh-grade girls: Abby Masters (28-8).
Seventh-grade boys: Kent Kawaguchi (34-11, first flight); Alex Tran (31-4, second flight).
Eighth-grade boys: Jose Hernandez (37-3, first flight); Nathan Nguyen (32-7, second flight).
Junior javelin
Seventh-grade boys: Jake Arledge (131-11).
Long jump
Sixth-grade girls: Emilie Bergman (11-2).
Sixth-grade boys: Paul Jai (12-8).
Seventh-grade girls: Brynne McNabb (11-6).
