Bobbie Ballard
Bobbie Ballard, 77, Murrieta, passed away on April 13. She was born Roberta
Alice Kane (Koenn) on November 3, 1930, in Oakland, CA to Arthur and Dorothy
(Savage) Kane. She retired in 1988 from Orange Coast College after 20 years
working in Registration, the Dean’s Office and the pre-school. She proudly
earned her AA degree from OCC in 1976. She loved to travel, whether to visit
family and friends across the country, attend her grandchildren’s sporting
events, or venture overseas. One of her favorite trips was to China which
fulfilled a childhood dream. She celebrated her British and German heritage and
was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire. Through her genealogy
research she located long lost and new found relatives, and cherished these
connections. She was active in Phi Beta Kappa. Her passions included mystery
novels, British television shows, Autumn, hand crafts and above all, her family
and friends. S! he was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Walter B
owman; and step-daughter Coki Francisco. She leaves behind husband Jack Ballard;
daughter Sue Volger, husband Greg, grandchildren Megan, Courtney, and Brett of
San Diego; daughter Joy Frazier, husband Joe, grandchildren Michael, Preston and
Kate of Springfield, MO; step-daughter Jill Ballard of Solvang; step-daughter
Bek Meyers and family of NewTown, CT; step-son Rick Ballard of Camarillo; and
many other family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday,
April 17 at 10am at Murrieta United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may
be made to the Breast Cancer Society.
