Young Guns win in OT
Peter Skowron netted the only goal in an overtime shootout  his only goal of the match  and it turned out to be the title-clincher, allowing the Young Guns to slip past the Puckhogs, 4-3, in the Norris Division postseason championship final Saturday at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Matthew Manning, Ryan Beardshear and Charley Lowe also scored for the Young Guns.
The Puckhogs’ scoring included goals by Tyler Donelson, Marlin Liberatore and Amanda Vongries.
In other division championship finals:
Patrick Division
Goonies 5, Bruins 3
Garrett Blackwell and Alvin Do scored goals during a third period where the Goonies defense didn’t allow a score, and that proved to be the difference in the division final.
Blake Miller, Kyle Impelman and Dylan Miller also scored for the Goonies.
Phillip Berman, David Mastro and Slater Hoar scored for the Bruins. Assists went to Nick Irwin and Erich Post Jr. and Eric Grant had 22 saves.
Team X 4, Wings 1
Team X jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead, then finished off the victory with a 2-0 finish in the third period.
Taylor Castle scored the first goal for Team X, followed by consecutive scores by Wesley Keizer and a final goal by Wesley Motta.
Castle and Cameron Marino each had two assists and Kevin Christi had one assist. Joshua Fowler finished with 29 saves. Jimmy Hocker scored off a feed from Kyle Betz and Andrew Skowron recorded 21 saves for the Wings.
