Trial postponed for Waterfront Furnishings
The court hearing regarding the South Coast Home Furnishings Centre, a Costa Mesa shopping complex that has attempted to evict an outspoken business owner, has been rescheduled to Thursday.
Attorneys for the center and for Waterfront Furnishings, a boutique that recently received an eviction notice, convened at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach Tuesday morning for the first day of the trial, but had to postpone their plans because no courtroom was available. Both sides are scheduled to return to court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Don Logan, the co-owner of Waterfront Furnishings, has accused the center’s owners of failing to adequately promote tenants and of retaliating against him for his activism.
Last year, Logan created an independent merchants association at the center to advertise his business and others.
