Bible Studies at Presbyterian Church

Laguna Presbyterian Church invites everyone to study and reflect on the Bible. Several Bible Studies are available, and all are invited to attend.

Each Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. upstairs in Hills Hall, or Wednesday mornings at 7 in the church Parlor, Senior Pastor, Jerry Tankersley teaches for an hour and 15 minutes from the Scriptures that undergird the following Sunday’s sermon.

Participants are invited to come once in awhile, or every week, and there are no outside assignments of fees. For more information, contact the church office at 494-7555.

Laguna Presbyterian offers Disciple Program

The Disciple Program is the core Bible Study offered at Laguna Presbyterian.

It includes weekly discussion of in-class videos, and personal home study, led by church staff or trained leaders.

Because of Disciples’ popularity, several classes are offered.

An experimental 16-week course overviews both the Old and New Testaments. A Women’s Class is offered on Thursday mornings at 9:30, and another, open to both men and women, at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

A more in-depth Disciple 1 class with 32 weekly meetings is offered at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

To pre-register and pay the $35 materials fee, or get more information, stop in at the church office or call Dr. Kathy Sizer at (949) 494-7555. Sign-up by Sept. 17, and classes begin the week of Sept. 24.

Group to study ‘The Lord is My Shepherd’

A 10-week study of “The Lord is My Shepherd…” (the 23rd Psalm) is offered by Word Study from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 12 and ending Nov. 14 in the Parlor of Laguna Presbyterian Church. Participants will explore their own times of joy and fear in the context of the Psalm.

Shari Beckett wrote the material for this class and invites participants to integrate the Biblical principles to “be still and know He is God,” and to experience the “peace that surpasses all understanding.”
