Tickets for Tropical Gala at Crystal Cove are limited

Tickets are limited for Saturday’s Tropical Gala at Crystal Cove State Park Historic District.

The fifth annual event, running from 5 to 9:30 p.m., features coastal cuisine from the Beachcomber Cafe, live hula music and a fire dancer.

It also includes the Coastal Splendor Invitational Art Show and Sale with original plein air work from 44 invited artists from across the country.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Crystal Cove Alliance, which aims to preserve and restore the historic beachfront community.

The alliance is nearly halfway done restoring the cottages, having completed 22 of 46, said organization President Laura Davick.

Event tickets are $300 and are expected to sell out soon.
