Rabbi invites locals to celebrate together
Chabad Jewish Center will sponsor High Holiday Services in celebration of the Jewish New Year at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, 1107 Jamboree Road.
The services are free and geared primarily toward families living in Orange County who might not be affiliated with any particular synagogue.
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are the holiest days of the year in the Jewish faith.
Rabbi Reuven Mintz of the Jewish Center wants to ensure services are available for people who might not otherwise attend them.
The services will be a blend of traditional and contemporary Jewish messages and music. An interactive children’s program will be led by entertainer and “Creative Parties for Kids†owner Lisa Cohen.
Rosh Hashanah services will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 12, and 10 a.m. Sept. 13 and 14. The children’s program will take place at 10 a.m. those days.
Services for Yom Kippur will take place at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 21 and 10 a.m. Sept. 22. The children’s program will begin at 11 a.m. Sept. 22.
