Girls to learn dance routines at cheer camp

Kindergarten through eighth grade girls are invited to participate in Newport Harbor High School’s Junior Cheer Camp from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 20 through 23.

The high school’s 2007-2008 cheerleading squad will lead the four-day clinic, where campers will be taught dance routines, cheers and give a special performance for parents on the last day of camp.

The junior cheer campers will also be invited to perform their camp dance at one of Newport Harbor High School’s home football games in the fall.

Cost for the camp is $150 and includes a camp T-shirt, snacks, drinks, souvenir photo, pompoms and hair scrunchie.
