Woman arrested on suspicion of auto theft
A Costa Mesa woman was booked at Orange County Jail early Saturday after police observed her passed out in a car at 2855 Pinecreek Drive and found out the car she was sleeping in was stolen, Lt. Dale Birney said.
Just before midnight Friday, police attempted to wake up Crystal Dawn Manson, 22, but when they couldn’t, they called an ambulance to take her Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. Upon further investigation, police found it had been reported stolen, Birney said.
Police then discovered a slew of items inside the car, including a lap top computer, identification, a passport, which was all reportedly from a home burglary reported in Huntington Beach last week. Police reported also finding drug paraphernalia.
Manson, a bartender, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia and booked just before 5 a.m. Saturday. Bail has been set at $20,000, according to county records.
