Faiths come together for Pluralism Sunday at church
The Rev. Sarah Halverson and Rabbi Julie Pelc will come together at Fairview Community Church in Costa Mesa for Pluralism Sunday, an event designed to celebrate the connectedness of the world’s many faiths.
The church is one of 370 international affiliates of the Center for Progressive Christianity, which organized the event for the first time this year based on its tenet that Christianity is just one of many equally valid sets of beliefs.
“We are recognizing that our religions are different, but that we can lay aside our differences in order to work together and coexist,” Halverson said.
The event is at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, 2525 Fairview Road. For more information, call (714) 545-4610.
