Man suspected of being member of ID-theft ring
Newport Beach police have arrested a man they suspect of being the fifth member of an identity-theft ring. At his home in Northridge, police found thousands of counterfeit credit cards and an entire card-production setup.
Detectives arrested Federico Vigo on Monday. Inside his house, they discovered several pieces of equipment used to print, emboss and magnetize credit information onto phony cards, police said.
Vigo reportedly told police that he manufactured a number of counterfeit cards for Christopher Aragon, the man believed to be the ring leader of the operation.
Aragon was the former president of Mission Pacific Capital.
