Keep boats sea lion-proof instead of calling police

A rowdy crowd has returned to Newport Harbor to party on boats and make noise. But don’t call the police — get the hose instead. Sea lions are back for the third year, and boat owners have begun calling the city to complain, Newport Beach harbor resources supervisor Chris Miller said Monday.

“It’s the time of year when the boat owners need to get back on the routine of making sure their boats are sea lion-proof,” Miller said.
