BREAKING NEWS: Four-car crash sends six to hospital
Six people were taken to local area hospitals after a four-car crash today in Newport Beach, police said.
The crash occurred at the Superior and Placentia avenues when one vehicle rear-ended another, causing a chain reaction that affected multiple vehicles, Lt. Craig Fox said. The last car hit a pedestrian walking in the crosswalk, Fox said.
Four of the injured victims were taken to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach. Another two victims were taken to the trauma Western Medical Center, in Santa Ana, Newport Beach Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Schulz said.
